Mathieu Narcy defended his doctoral thesis at the University of Panthéon-Assas (Paris 2) in 2007. After a post-doctorate at the Centre d'études de l'emploi, he became a lecturer at the Université Paris-Est Créteil in September 2009. Since October 2016, he has been a lecturer at the Cnam and a member of the Center for Employment and Labor Studies (CEET).
