Former student of the « Ecole normale supérieure de Cachan », Isabelle Chambost studied also economics at the Sorbonne University and at the « Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées » (ENPC). She holds an « aggregation » in economics and management and a diploma of public accounting. She became a lecturer in management science in the Cnam in 2008.
Her research focuses on the mechanisms and processes of financialization, their development by financial intermediaries, their diffusion - in particular via the penetration of accounting representations - and the social and societal consequences that result. It deals also with societal alternatives in terms of alternative management, « Autogestion » and « Commons ».
